Farmers in Haveri district’s Shiggaon taluk continued their protest overnight near the Bankapura toll gate, demanding fair and adequate prices for their agricultural produce. Setting up a temporary tent in front of the toll plaza, the protesters organized cooking and dining arrangements on-site to sustain their ongoing demonstration.
The primary demand of the agitators is that farmers must receive justified and remunerative prices for their hard-earned harvest. Farmer leaders have warned that the protest will continue indefinitely until their demands are met and proper pricing is ensured.
Several prominent leaders from various parts of Haveri district—including Kareppa Alur, Ajit Sankapanavar, and Prakash Nikkam—participated in the demonstration to extend their full support to the farming community’s cause, emphasizing that the toil of farmers must yield rightful rewards.
